This thesis presents the development of a Virtual Reality (VR) system designed specifically for upper limb rehabilitation in stroke patients. Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in impaired motor function in affected individuals. Traditional rehabilitation methods have limitations in providing engaging and personalized therapy to stroke patients, leading to suboptimal outcomes. Virtual Reality technology offers a promising alternative by providing immersive and interactive environments for rehabilitation, which can enhance patient motivation and engagement. The primary objective of this study was to design and evaluate a VR system tailored for upper limb rehabilitation in stroke patients. The system incorporates customizable exercises and interactive tasks that target specific motor functions, allowing for personalized therapy programs based on individual patient needs and progress. Through a user-centered design approach, the VR system was developed to be intuitive, user-friendly, and adaptable to varying levels of motor impairment.
