Point-of-care testing (POCT) has emerged as a promising approach to improve healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas with limited access to traditional laboratory services. This thesis explores the implementation of POCT in rural health clinics and its impact on patient care and health outcomes. The study investigates the challenges and benefits associated with integrating POCT into routine clinical practice, aiming to provide insights into how this technology can enhance healthcare services in underserved communities. Chapter 1 introduces the research topic, providing background information on the significance of POCT in rural healthcare settings. The problem statement highlights the gaps in current laboratory services in rural areas and the potential of POCT to address these challenges.
