<p> This research project aims to evaluate the impact of library consortia on collection development and resource sharing. The study will investigate the role of library consortia in enhancing access to diverse collections, optimizing resource allocation, and fostering collaborative initiatives among member libraries. By employing a mixed-methods approach, the research seeks to analyze the effectiveness of library consortia in meeting the evolving needs of library users, identify challenges and opportunities, and propose strategies for maximizing the impact of consortia on collection development and resource sharing. <br></p>

By defining key terms and establishing the scope and objectives of the study, the introduction aims to provide a clear framework for the subsequent exploration of the role of library consortia in advancing collaborative collection development and resource sharing initiatives.</div><div>Central to this research is the examination of library consortia, encompassing their evolution, purpose, models of collaboration, and the benefits and challenges they present. The study also aims to explore the impact of library consortia on collection development, including strategies for optimizing collection development, the diversity and accessibility of collections within consortia, and collaborative collection development initiatives facilitated by consortia.</div><div>Moreover, the research endeavors to assess the impact of library consortia on resource sharing and collaboration, encompassing interlibrary loan services, collaborative acquisitions, licensing, and the technology and infrastructure that support resource sharing initiatives.</div><div>Furthermore, the study aspires to provide insights into assessing the effectiveness of library consortia, encompassing an analysis of their impact on member libraries, user perspectives and satisfaction, and an examination of the challenges and opportunities in this domain.</div><div>By comprehensively evaluating the impact of library consortia on collection development and resource sharing, this research aims to inform and guide library professionals, consortia administrators, and stakeholders in understanding the pivotal role of consortia in advancing collaborative collection development and resource sharing initiatives.
