<p> This study aims to explore the pivotal role of libraries in preserving indigenous knowledge and culture within their communities. It will investigate the strategies and initiatives undertaken by libraries to collect, preserve, and promote indigenous knowledge and cultural heritage. The research will utilize a mixed-methods approach, incorporating case studies, interviews with community members and library professionals, and analysis of archival materials. By examining the role of libraries in preserving indigenous knowledge and culture, this study seeks to provide insights into best practices and recommendations for empowering communities to safeguard their heritage. <br></p>

Libraries have the potential to serve as vital custodians and advocates for the preservation of indigenous knowledge and culture, playing a pivotal role in empowering communities to safeguard their heritage for future generations.</div><div>This study seeks to delve into the multifaceted role of libraries in preserving indigenous knowledge and culture, aiming to provide insights into the strategies, challenges, and successes of library initiatives in this critical endeavor. The importance of preserving indigenous knowledge and culture extends beyond the conservation of historical artifacts and oral traditions; it encompasses the empowerment of communities to actively participate in the documentation, preservation, and revitalization of their heritage.</div><div>Libraries, as trusted community institutions, have the capacity to facilitate inclusive and community-centered approaches to indigenous knowledge preservation. By engaging with local stakeholders, indigenous knowledge holders, and cultural custodians, libraries can foster collaborative initiatives that respect the ethical considerations and intellectual property rights associated with indigenous knowledge. Through the collection, curation, and dissemination of indigenous knowledge, libraries can contribute to the revitalization of cultural practices, language preservation, and the transmission of intergenerational wisdom.</div><div>This research aims to shed light on the innovative practices and community-centered approaches employed by libraries in preserving indigenous knowledge and culture. By examining case studies, engaging with community perspectives, and analyzing the challenges and successes of library initiatives, this study seeks to offer practical recommendations for strengthening library engagement in indigenous knowledge preservation.
