Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The shift towards faculty teaching curricula that rely less on traditional library resources poses a significant challenge for academic libraries in providing relevant and valuable services to their users. This research project explores the strategies and approaches that academic libraries can adopt to continue offering essential services in an environment where faculty are moving away from traditional library resources. By conducting a comprehensive literature review and analyzing case studies of academic libraries that have successfully navigated this changing landscape, this study aims to identify best practices and innovative solutions for librarians facing similar challenges. The findings suggest that academic libraries need to adapt to the evolving needs of faculty and students by redefining their services and resources. Collaboration with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum, providing tailored research support, and offering specialized workshops on information literacy are among the key strategies identified. Additionally, leveraging technology to enhance access to digital resources, implementing user-centered services, and promoting library services through targeted outreach efforts are crucial in maintaining the relevance and value of academic libraries in this changing academic environment. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of professional development for librarians to acquire new skills and stay abreast of emerging trends in higher education. Engaging in continuous assessment and evaluation of library services, seeking feedback from faculty and students, and fostering a culture of innovation within the library are essential for ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of library services in the face of changing teaching practices. Overall, this research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the role of academic libraries in supporting teaching and learning in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
