AbstractLibraries have long been recognized as essential institutions that support education, research, and the dissemination of knowledge. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the role libraries play in promoting human rights. This research project aims to explore the role of the library as an information resource in promoting human rights. Libraries serve as crucial hubs for information access, providing resources that enable individuals to educate themselves about their rights and responsibilities. Through their collections of books, journals, and digital resources, libraries offer a wealth of information on various human rights issues, including civil liberties, social justice, and equality. By providing access to diverse perspectives and scholarly research, libraries empower individuals to become informed and engaged citizens. Furthermore, libraries play a vital role in promoting freedom of expression and intellectual freedom, which are fundamental human rights. By offering spaces for open dialogue and intellectual exploration, libraries create environments that foster critical thinking and dialogue on issues related to human rights.
