Librarians play a crucial role in facilitating access to information and resources for patrons. The advent of the internet has significantly transformed the way librarians carry out their responsibilities. This research project aims to explore the various uses of internet facilities by librarians and how it impacts their work. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather comprehensive data. The survey will be distributed to a diverse sample of librarians across different types of libraries to collect quantitative data on their internet usage patterns. The survey will inquire about the frequency of internet use, specific tasks performed online, and the perceived benefits and challenges of using internet facilities in their work. In addition to the survey, in-depth interviews will be conducted with a subset of librarians to gain deeper insights into their experiences with utilizing internet resources. The interviews will focus on exploring how librarians navigate online databases, utilize search engines for research purposes, and engage with patrons through virtual platforms. Furthermore, the interviews will delve into the strategies employed by librarians to stay updated on digital trends and information technologies. The research findings will shed light on the diverse ways in which librarians leverage internet facilities to enhance their professional practice. It will highlight the role of online resources in conducting research, providing reference services, and developing information literacy programs. Moreover, the study will identify the challenges faced by librarians in utilizing internet facilities, such as information overload, digital literacy gaps, and privacy concerns.
