This research project focuses on exploring best practices and strategies for the storage and preservation of various types of library and information materials, including books, manuscripts, photographs, audiovisual materials, and digital resources. The project aims to investigate the challenges faced by libraries and information centers in maintaining the physical and digital integrity of their collections, as well as the implications of inadequate preservation practices. Through an extensive review of existing literature, this research examines the factors that contribute to the deterioration of library and information materials, such as environmental conditions, handling procedures, and pests. By identifying these factors, the project seeks to provide recommendations for mitigating risks and implementing effective preservation measures.
