Hospital libraries play a crucial role in supporting clinical decision-making processes in healthcare settings. This research project aims to investigate the impact of hospital libraries on clinical decision-making in Nigeria. The study will be conducted through a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The quantitative aspect of the research will involve surveying healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other staff members, to assess their utilization of hospital library resources and the perceived impact on their decision-making processes. The surveys will also gather data on the types of information accessed, frequency of use, and satisfaction with the library services. In addition to the surveys, qualitative interviews will be conducted with a subset of healthcare professionals to delve deeper into their experiences with using the hospital library for clinical decision-making. These interviews will explore the specific ways in which the library resources have influenced their decision-making processes, the challenges they encounter, and suggestions for improvement. The research will focus on multiple hospitals across Nigeria to capture a diverse range of perspectives and practices. By examining different hospital settings, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of hospital libraries in supporting clinical decision-making in the Nigerian healthcare context. The findings from this research project are expected to contribute valuable insights to the existing literature on hospital libraries and their impact on clinical decision-making. The results will inform healthcare administrators and library professionals on the effectiveness of current library services and areas for enhancement. Overall, this research project seeks to highlight the significance of hospital libraries as essential resources for healthcare professionals in Nigeria. By understanding and improving the utilization of library services, healthcare providers can enhance their decision-making processes, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and improved quality of care.
