Thesis Abstract

Industrial conflict in public libraries can have a significant impact on staff production and overall organizational efficiency. This research project aims to investigate the various ways in which industrial conflict affects staff production in public libraries, as well as the challenges that arise as a result of such conflicts. The study will employ both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gather data on industrial conflict situations in public libraries. Surveys and interviews will be conducted with library staff members, supervisors, and management to understand the nature and extent of conflicts that occur within the organization. Additionally, data on staff productivity levels, absenteeism rates, and job satisfaction will be collected and analyzed to assess the impact of industrial conflict on staff production. One of the key impacts of industrial conflict on staff production in public libraries is decreased employee morale and job satisfaction. When employees are involved in conflicts with management or amongst themselves, it can lead to feelings of frustration, stress, and disengagement, which ultimately affects their motivation and productivity. Conflict can also create a negative work environment, leading to increased absenteeism and turnover rates, further impacting staff production. Furthermore, industrial conflict can result in communication breakdowns within the organization, hindering effective collaboration and coordination among staff members. When conflicts are not resolved in a timely and constructive manner, it can create tension and division among employees, affecting their ability to work together towards common goals. This can lead to inefficiencies in workflow, delays in project completion, and ultimately lower staff production levels. Challenges that arise from industrial conflict in public libraries include increased workload on remaining staff members due to absenteeism or turnover, as well as difficulties in maintaining a positive organizational culture. Addressing and resolving conflicts in a timely and effective manner is crucial to mitigating these challenges and improving staff production levels in public libraries. By gaining a deeper understanding of the impact and challenges of industrial conflict on staff production in public libraries, this research project aims to provide valuable insights for library management on how to effectively manage and resolve conflicts within the organization. Ultimately, the findings of this study can contribute to the development of strategies and interventions to enhance staff productivity and create a more positive work environment in public libraries.
