Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of technology on information literacy skills in Library Science Education. The integration of technology in education has transformed the way information is accessed, analyzed, and shared. This study investigates how technology influences the development of information literacy skills among students in the field of Library Science. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from students and educators in Library Science programs. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, discussing the background of the research, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key themes related to technology, information literacy, and Library Science education. The review synthesizes existing research to provide a theoretical framework for understanding the impact of technology on information literacy skills. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the design of the study, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. Various research instruments were used to gather data, such as surveys and interviews, to capture both quantitative and qualitative perspectives on the topic. The chapter also outlines ethical considerations and limitations of the research methodology. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, analyzing the data collected from students and educators regarding the impact of technology on information literacy skills.
