This thesis investigates the impact of digital libraries on the development of information literacy skills among Library Science students. Information literacy is a critical component of modern education, enabling individuals to effectively find, evaluate, and use information in various contexts. The advent of digital libraries has transformed the landscape of information access and retrieval, offering vast resources and diverse formats that necessitate new skills and competencies. This study aims to explore how digital libraries influence the acquisition and enhancement of information literacy skills among Library Science students, with a focus on understanding the challenges and opportunities presented by digital resources. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the stage for the subsequent investigation into the impact of digital libraries on information literacy skills development. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines the existing body of knowledge on information literacy, digital libraries, and their intersection. The review covers ten key areas, including the concept of information literacy, the evolution of digital libraries, models of information literacy instruction, challenges in digital information access, and the role of librarians in promoting information literacy among students.
