Thesis Abstract

<p> This research project aims to assess the role of libraries in promoting information access for people with disabilities. The study will investigate the current landscape of library services and resources tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities, examining the effectiveness of existing initiatives and identifying areas for improvement. By employing a mixed-methods approach, the research seeks to analyze the impact of library programs, assistive technologies, and inclusive policies on information access for people with disabilities, and provide recommendations for enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of library services. <br></p>

Through the utilization of a mixed-methods approach, the study endeavors to gather insights from individuals with disabilities, library staff, and accessibility advocates to assess the effectiveness of existing initiatives and identify best practices for enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of library services.</div><div>The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the role of libraries in promoting information access for people with disabilities, providing valuable insights for library practitioners, accessibility advocates, and stakeholders seeking to enhance the inclusivity and relevance of library services. Ultimately, this study aims to offer recommendations for optimizing library support for information access, furthering the mission of libraries as accessible and responsive hubs for diverse communities, including those with disabilities.</div> <br></div><p></p>
