Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of community gardens on food security in rural areas. The study aims to investigate how community gardens can contribute to enhancing food security by increasing access to fresh and nutritious produce in rural communities. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review, data collection through surveys and interviews, and analysis of findings to provide insights into the role of community gardens in promoting food security. The results indicate that community gardens play a significant role in improving food security by providing a sustainable source of fresh produce, promoting community engagement, and enhancing food self-sufficiency. The study also highlights the challenges and limitations faced by community gardens in rural areas, such as limited resources, land availability, and community participation. The findings suggest that policy support, community involvement, and capacity building are essential for the success and sustainability of community gardens in enhancing food security in rural areas. Overall, this thesis contributes to the existing literature on community gardens and food security, emphasizing the importance of community-based initiatives in addressing food insecurity in rural communities.
