Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of sustainable farming practices on rural household income and food security. Sustainable agriculture is crucial for improving rural livelihoods and ensuring food security in communities. The study focuses on analyzing how the adoption of sustainable farming practices influences household income and food security levels in rural areas. Through a mixed-methods approach, data was collected from rural households practicing sustainable farming methods, with a particular emphasis on organic farming, agroforestry, and integrated crop-livestock systems. The research begins with an introduction outlining the importance of sustainable agriculture in addressing poverty and food insecurity in rural communities. The background of the study provides a comprehensive overview of existing literature on sustainable farming practices, rural livelihoods, and food security. The problem statement highlights the challenges faced by rural households in achieving sustainable income and food security. The objectives of the study are to assess the impact of sustainable farming practices on household income levels and food security status, identify the factors influencing the adoption of sustainable practices, and recommend strategies for promoting sustainable agriculture in rural areas.
