Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of technology adoption on agricultural productivity in rural communities. The rapid advancement of technology has the potential to revolutionize traditional farming practices and enhance agricultural productivity in rural areas. However, the extent to which technology adoption has truly improved agricultural productivity in these communities remains unclear. This study aims to fill this gap by examining the relationship between technology adoption and agricultural productivity in rural settings. The research methodology employed in this study involves a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Surveys and interviews will be conducted with farmers in rural communities to gather insights into their adoption of technology and its impact on their agricultural productivity. Additionally, agricultural productivity data will be collected and analyzed to assess the tangible outcomes of technology adoption in these communities. The literature review section of this thesis provides an in-depth analysis of existing research on technology adoption in agriculture, the factors influencing technology adoption decisions, and the impact of technology on agricultural productivity. The review also explores the challenges and opportunities associated with technology adoption in rural areas. The findings of this study reveal that technology adoption plays a crucial role in improving agricultural productivity in rural communities. Farmers who embrace technology experience higher yields, cost savings, and improved efficiency in their farming operations. However, several challenges such as access to technology, affordability, and lack of technical skills hinder widespread technology adoption in rural areas. Based on the research findings, recommendations are provided to policymakers, agricultural extension services, and technology providers on strategies to promote technology adoption in rural communities. These recommendations aim to address the barriers to technology adoption and maximize the potential benefits of technology in improving agricultural productivity in rural areas. In conclusion, this thesis contributes valuable insights into the impact of technology adoption on agricultural productivity in rural communities. By understanding the factors influencing technology adoption and its outcomes, stakeholders can develop targeted interventions to promote the widespread adoption of technology and enhance agricultural productivity in rural settings.
