Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of sustainable agricultural practices on household income in rural communities. Sustainable agriculture has gained increasing attention over the years due to its potential to enhance environmental conservation, economic development, and social well-being. However, its specific impact on household income within rural communities remains a topic that requires further exploration. The study aims to fill this gap by examining how the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices influences household income levels in rural settings. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The study will be conducted in a selected rural community where sustainable agricultural practices have been implemented to varying degrees. Data will be collected through surveys administered to households engaged in agriculture, as well as interviews with key stakeholders involved in promoting sustainable practices. The literature review delves into the theoretical underpinnings of sustainable agriculture and its relationship to household income. Key concepts such as agroecology, organic farming, and conservation agriculture will be explored to provide a solid foundation for the study. The review also examines existing empirical studies that have investigated the impact of sustainable agricultural practices on household income in different contexts.
