Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of agricultural extension services on sustainable farming practices in rural communities. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of extension services in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and improving the livelihoods of farmers in rural areas. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical research, this study explores the role of extension services in disseminating information, providing training, and facilitating access to resources that enhance sustainable farming practices. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and field observations conducted in rural communities. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, discussing the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review on agricultural extension services, sustainable farming practices, and their impact on rural communities. Ten key themes are identified and analyzed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the methodology. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, highlighting the impact of agricultural extension services on sustainable farming practices in rural communities.
