This thesis investigates the profound impact of colonialism on the indigenous cultures of Nigeria, focusing on how the colonial legacy continues to shape various aspects of Nigerian society today. The study delves into the historical context of colonial rule in Nigeria and examines the cultural, social, economic, and political consequences of this period on indigenous communities. Through a case study approach, the research explores specific examples of how colonial policies and practices disrupted traditional ways of life, altered cultural identities, and influenced the socio-political landscape of Nigeria. The literature review provides a comprehensive analysis of existing scholarly works on colonialism, post-colonial studies, and indigenous cultures in Nigeria.
