This thesis explores the profound impact of colonialism on indigenous cultures in Africa through a comparative study of Nigeria and Kenya. Colonialism, as a historical phenomenon, significantly altered the social, cultural, and economic landscapes of these two African nations. The study aims to analyze and compare the effects of colonial rule on the indigenous cultures of Nigeria and Kenya, shedding light on the lasting legacies of this period. The introduction sets the stage by providing background information on the colonial history of Nigeria and Kenya, highlighting the key aspects of colonial rule that influenced indigenous cultures. The problem statement identifies the research gap in understanding the specific impacts of colonialism on indigenous cultures in these countries. The objectives of the study are to examine how colonial policies and practices affected traditional cultural practices, social structures, and identities in Nigeria and Kenya.
