Colonialism has left deep imprints on the cultures of indigenous populations across the globe. This thesis delves into the lasting effects of colonial rule on the cultural heritage of indigenous communities in Africa and Asia through a comparative lens. The study investigates the ways in which colonial powers imposed their ideologies, values, and systems on these regions, leading to significant disruptions in traditional practices, beliefs, and social structures. By examining the historical contexts of colonialism in Africa and Asia, this research aims to shed light on the multifaceted impacts on indigenous cultures. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, discussing the background of the study, problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review, exploring existing scholarship on the effects of colonialism on indigenous cultures in Africa and Asia.
