Colonialism has undeniably left a lasting impact on indigenous cultures worldwide, and Nigeria stands as a poignant example of this phenomenon. This thesis explores the multifaceted repercussions of colonial rule on the indigenous cultures of Nigeria, focusing on the social, political, economic, and cultural dimensions of this colonial legacy. Through a comprehensive analysis of historical sources, ethnographic studies, and scholarly literature, this research project seeks to illuminate the enduring effects of colonialism on the indigenous peoples of Nigeria. The introductory chapter sets the stage by providing a background to the study, articulating the problem statement, outlining the objectives of the study, discussing the limitations and scope of the research, emphasizing the significance of the study, and presenting the structure of the thesis.
