Colonialism has left a lasting impact on indigenous communities around the world, shaping their social, economic, and political landscapes. This study delves into the effects of colonialism on contemporary indigenous communities, focusing on how historical injustices continue to influence their present-day realities. Through a comprehensive literature review, this thesis explores the various ways in which colonialism has disrupted indigenous cultures, traditions, and systems of governance. The research methodology involves a mix of qualitative and quantitative approaches, including interviews, surveys, and archival analysis, to provide a nuanced understanding of the subject matter. The findings of this study reveal that the legacies of colonialism persist in indigenous communities through issues such as land dispossession, cultural erasure, and socio-economic marginalization.
