Thesis Abstract

Oil palm production has been a significant economic activity in the Ejigbo community in Ogun State, Nigeria, from 1960 to 2000. This research project delves into the history and international relations aspects of oil palm production in the area during this period. The study aims to explore the evolution of oil palm production in Ejigbo, examining its economic, social, and political impacts both locally and globally. The period between 1960 and 2000 was crucial for oil palm production in Ejigbo, as it witnessed various changes in production techniques, market dynamics, and international trade relations. The project will analyze how these changes influenced the growth and development of the oil palm industry in the community. Additionally, the study will investigate the role of international relations in shaping the production and export of oil palm from Ejigbo to other countries during this period. A key focus of the research will be to examine the historical context of oil palm production in Ejigbo and its impact on the local economy and society.
