This research investigates the relationship between physical activity and mental health among college students, with a focus on examining the effectiveness of physical activity interventions in improving mental well-being. A comprehensive literature review reveals the significant benefits of regular physical activity on mental health outcomes, including reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety, improved mood, and enhanced self-esteem. Despite these benefits, college students often face barriers to engaging in physical activity, highlighting the need for targeted interventions. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of survey data with qualitative exploration of participant experiences. Preliminary findings suggest that physical activity interventions have a positive impact on mental health outcomes among college students, with increased physical activity levels associated with improved mood and reduced stress. However, several barriers to participation in physical activity interventions are identified, including time constraints, lack of motivation, and limited access to resources. These findings underscore the importance of developing tailored interventions that address the unique needs and preferences of college students.
