Abstract
Climate change is a pressing global issue that poses significant challenges to coastal regions worldwide. This thesis investigates the impact of climate change on coastal erosion and explores adaptation strategies in a specific coastal region. The study focuses on analyzing the current state of coastal erosion in the selected region and evaluating how climate change exacerbates this phenomenon. Furthermore, the research aims to identify and assess various adaptation strategies that can mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on coastal areas. The research methodology involves a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, including data collection through field surveys, remote sensing techniques, and interviews with key stakeholders involved in coastal management. A comprehensive literature review provides a theoretical foundation for understanding the complex interactions between climate change, coastal erosion, and adaptation strategies. The findings of the study highlight the alarming rate of coastal erosion in the selected region, attributable to changing climatic patterns such as sea-level rise and increased storm intensity. The analysis reveals that traditional coastal protection measures are no longer sufficient to address the challenges posed by climate change, necessitating innovative adaptation strategies.
