Climate change has become a pressing global issue with far-reaching consequences, impacting various ecosystems and landscapes worldwide. This study focuses on analyzing the impact of climate change on glacial retreat in a selected mountain range, aiming to provide insights into the dynamic relationship between climate change and glacial processes. The selected mountain range serves as a case study to investigate the specific effects of climate change on glacier retreat and the associated environmental implications. Chapter one of the thesis introduces the research, providing background information on the study area and outlining the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key areas related to climate change, glacial retreat, and mountain ecosystems. This review synthesizes existing knowledge and identifies gaps in understanding that this study seeks to address. Chapter three details the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The methodology section also discusses the tools and techniques used to measure glacial retreat and assess the impacts of climate change on the selected mountain range. It further outlines ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. In chapter four, the findings of the study are elaborated upon, presenting a detailed analysis of the data collected and discussing the observed trends in glacial retreat within the selected mountain range.
