Abstract
Climate change poses a significant threat to coastal communities worldwide, impacting various aspects of their socio-economic and environmental well-being. This thesis focuses on analyzing the impact of climate change on a specific coastal area, aiming to understand the challenges faced by the community and explore potential adaptation strategies. The study employs a case study approach, utilizing a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to collect data and analyze the findings. The introductory chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the research context, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter two consists of a detailed literature review that synthesizes existing knowledge on the effects of climate change on coastal communities, covering ten key themes such as sea level rise, extreme weather events, coastal erosion, and community vulnerability. Chapter three outlines the research methodology employed in the study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations.
