This comparative study explores the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes, seeking to provide insights into the potential risks and benefits associated with online platforms. Chapter 1 of the thesis sets the foundation for the study, beginning with an introduction to the topic of social media and its pervasive influence on society. The background of the study outlines the evolution of social media and its growing relevance in everyday life. The problem statement highlights the need to investigate the impact of social media on mental health, considering the increasing prevalence of mental health issues in contemporary society.
