This thesis investigates the impact of social media on mental health across different age groups, aiming to provide a comparative analysis to identify potential variations in the outcomes. The study explores the relationship between social media usage patterns and mental health indicators such as stress, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. By examining various age groups, including adolescents, young adults, and older individuals, this research seeks to uncover nuanced insights into how social media affects mental well-being across different stages of life. Chapter 1 introduces the research, providing the background of the study and highlighting the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms.
