This research project aims to investigate the utilization of edible films and coatings as innovative solutions in food packaging. The study will explore the potential benefits of using edible materials derived from natural sources, such as proteins, polysaccharides, and lipids, to create films and coatings that can enhance the shelf life, safety, and quality of packaged foods. Various techniques for the preparation and application of edible films and coatings will be evaluated, along with their effectiveness in reducing food spoilage, preserving freshness, and minimizing environmental impact compared to conventional packaging materials.
