The proper management of waste is crucial for maintaining environmental sustainability in urban areas. This thesis focuses on the assessment of sustainable waste management practices in urban areas, aiming to identify effective strategies to reduce waste generation, promote recycling and reuse, and minimize the environmental impact of waste disposal. The study examines the current waste management practices in urban areas and evaluates their effectiveness in achieving sustainability goals. The research methodology involves a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, including surveys, interviews, and data analysis. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to explore existing waste management practices, policies, and technologies, providing a theoretical framework for the study. The findings from the literature review are used to develop a conceptual framework that guides the research process.
