Plastic pollution has emerged as a critical environmental issue, particularly in marine ecosystems, posing significant threats to biodiversity, ecosystem health, and human well-being. This thesis focuses on the assessment of the impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems and the development of strategies for sustainable management. The study aims to explore the various dimensions of plastic pollution in marine environments, identify its ecological consequences, evaluate existing management practices, and propose innovative solutions to mitigate its adverse effects. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and the definition of key terms.
