Abstract
This thesis investigates the assessment of carbon footprint reduction strategies within the context of a manufacturing industry. The urgency of addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions has prompted organizations to adopt sustainable practices, including the reduction of carbon footprints. The manufacturing sector is a significant contributor to global carbon emissions, making it crucial to identify and implement effective strategies to mitigate environmental impacts. This study aims to examine various carbon footprint reduction strategies and their implementation in a manufacturing setting, focusing on their effectiveness, challenges, and outcomes. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to explore existing knowledge on carbon footprint reduction strategies in manufacturing industries. Primary data collection methods such as surveys, interviews, and case studies are utilized to gather insights from industry experts and stakeholders. The findings are analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques to identify key trends, challenges, and best practices in reducing carbon footprints. The results of this study reveal a range of effective carbon footprint reduction strategies that can be applied in manufacturing industries, including energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy adoption, waste management, and supply chain optimization. The implementation of these strategies is found to have positive impacts on environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and cost savings. However, challenges such as high initial investment costs, technological barriers, and organizational resistance are identified as barriers to successful implementation.
