Abstract
Tropical deforestation is a critical environmental issue driven by various factors, including urban growth and the demand for farm exports. This research project aims to investigate the relationship between urban expansion, agricultural activities, and the resulting deforestation in tropical regions. By analyzing satellite imagery, land use data, and economic indicators, this study seeks to understand the patterns and drivers of deforestation in different tropical areas. The research will focus on identifying the specific mechanisms through which urban growth and agricultural expansion contribute to deforestation, with a particular emphasis on the role of international trade in driving land-use changes. Additionally, the project will assess the impacts of deforestation on biodiversity, ecosystem services, and local communities in tropical regions. By conducting a comprehensive analysis of the interactions between urbanization, agricultural practices, and deforestation, this study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, conservationists, and stakeholders working to address the complex challenges of land-use change and environmental degradation in tropical areas.
