The study aims to analyze a selection of African literary works from different regions and genres to provide a comprehensive understanding of how gender roles are depicted and the underlying ideologies that inform these representations. Through a combination of literary analysis and theoretical frameworks from gender studies and postcolonial theory, this research explores the complexities of gender dynamics in African literature and the ways in which authors engage with issues of power, agency, and identity. The introduction sets the stage by outlining the significance of the study in the context of African literature and gender studies.
