The abstract of the research content is as follows This research project investigates the impact of social media usage on mental health among adolescents. With the increasing prevalence of social media platforms and their pervasive influence, concerns have been raised regarding their potential negative effects on the mental well-being of young individuals. The study aims to explore the relationship between social media usage patterns and mental health outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem in adolescents. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data from a diverse sample of adolescents aged 13-18. Quantitative surveys will be used to assess the frequency and duration of social media use, as well as self-reported mental health symptoms. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted to gain insight into the subjective experiences and perceptions of adolescents regarding social media and its impact on their mental health. The research will contribute to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the complex interplay between social media usage and mental health in adolescents. By examining both quantitative and qualitative data, this study seeks to uncover nuanced relationships and potential mechanisms underlying the observed effects. Findings from this research may inform interventions and strategies aimed at promoting positive mental health outcomes in adolescents in the context of social media use.
