Abstract
This research project focuses on exploring the impact of social media on mental health among adolescents. Social media has become an integral part of adolescents' daily lives, influencing their social interactions, self-esteem, and overall well-being. The study aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and body image concerns among adolescents. The research utilizes a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with adolescents to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. Through these methods, the study seeks to examine the frequency and duration of social media usage among adolescents, as well as the types of platforms they use and the content they engage with. Additionally, the research explores adolescents' perceptions of social media and its impact on their mental health. Findings from this study are expected to contribute to a better understanding of how social media affects the mental health of adolescents. By identifying potential negative outcomes associated with social media use, such as increased feelings of loneliness or decreased self-esteem, the research aims to provide insights for developing interventions and strategies to promote positive mental health outcomes among adolescents. Through a comprehensive analysis of the data collected, this research project aims to highlight the importance of promoting healthy social media habits and fostering digital literacy among adolescents. By raising awareness about the potential risks of excessive social media use, the study seeks to empower adolescents to make informed choices about their online activities and prioritize their mental well-being. Overall, this research project addresses a significant gap in the existing literature by investigating the complex relationship between social media and mental health among adolescents. By shedding light on the potential impact of social media on adolescents' well-being, the study aims to inform future research directions and support the development of evidence-based interventions to promote positive mental health outcomes in this vulnerable population.
