The abstract of the research paper is as follows This study examines the impact of social media on mental health among young adults. With the rise in popularity of social media platforms, concerns have been raised regarding their effects on mental well-being. The research aims to explore how social media usage correlates with mental health outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem among young adults. A mixed-methods approach will be utilized to gather both quantitative data through surveys and qualitative data through interviews. The sample will consist of young adults aged 18-25 years, capturing a diverse range of social media users. Statistical analysis will be conducted to examine the relationships between social media usage patterns and mental health indicators. Additionally, thematic analysis will be employed to explore the qualitative data gathered from interviews, providing deeper insights into the experiences and perceptions of participants. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the existing literature on social media and mental health by offering a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which social media may influence mental well-being in young adults. Recommendations for mental health interventions and social media usage guidelines will be discussed based on the results obtained. Ultimately, this research seeks to raise awareness about the potential impact of social media on mental health and provide valuable insights for promoting positive mental well-being in the digital age.
