Abstract
As technology advances, the need for efficient and secure data storage solutions grows. Cloud computing has gained popularity due to its scalability and cost-effectiveness. However, security and privacy concerns remain significant challenges in cloud storage systems. This research project focuses on developing a secure and reliable cloud storage system that addresses these challenges. The proposed system utilizes a combination of encryption techniques, access control mechanisms, and data integrity verification methods to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of stored data. A key aspect of the system is the use of attribute-based encryption (ABE) to provide fine-grained access control based on user attributes. This approach enhances data security by allowing data owners to define access policies based on specific attributes rather than relying solely on traditional access control lists. In addition to access control, the system incorporates data deduplication techniques to optimize storage space and reduce redundancy. By identifying and eliminating duplicate data segments, the system minimizes storage costs and improves efficiency. Data deduplication also enhances data security by reducing the overall amount of data that needs to be protected. To ensure data integrity, the system employs cryptographic hash functions and checksums to detect and prevent data tampering. By regularly verifying data integrity through these mechanisms, the system can identify unauthorized modifications or corruption of stored data. This proactive approach to data integrity verification helps maintain the reliability of the cloud storage system. Furthermore, the system is designed to support data sharing among multiple users while maintaining security and privacy. Secure data sharing is facilitated through the use of secure cryptographic protocols that enable authorized users to access and collaborate on shared data while preserving data confidentiality and integrity. This feature is particularly useful for organizations and individuals who need to collaborate on sensitive data in a secure environment. Overall, the proposed secure cloud storage system offers a comprehensive solution to the challenges of data security and privacy in cloud storage environments. By combining encryption, access control, data deduplication, and data integrity verification, the system provides a robust and efficient platform for storing and sharing data securely in the cloud.
