Abstract
Ngugi wa Thiong'o, a prominent Kenyan writer, employs a variety of literary devices in his novel "Wizard of the Crow" to convey his powerful social and political messages. This research project explores the predominant devices used by Ngugi wa Thiong'o in this novel, focusing on key aspects such as symbolism, satire, allegory, and magical realism. Through a close analysis of the text, this study reveals how Ngugi skillfully weaves these devices together to create a rich tapestry of storytelling that not only entertains but also challenges readers to critically engage with issues of power, corruption, and colonialism in post-colonial Africa. By examining Ngugi's use of these devices, this research sheds light on the intricate ways in which literature can serve as a tool for social critique and cultural exploration.
