Language attitudes are crucial in understanding the dynamics of language use and identity among teenagers. This research project delves into exploring language attitudes among teenagers in Uyo, with a specific focus on African languages and linguistics. The study aims to investigate how teenagers in Uyo perceive different African languages and how these attitudes influence their language choices and behaviors. Using a case study approach, the research will involve collecting data through surveys, interviews, and observations to gain insights into the language attitudes of teenagers in Uyo. The study will examine factors such as perceived prestige, cultural significance, and utility associated with various African languages among teenagers. By analyzing these language attitudes, the research seeks to uncover the underlying reasons behind language preferences and the impact of these attitudes on language use patterns among teenagers in Uyo.
