Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Electronic display boards play a crucial role in conveying information effectively in various settings such as transportation hubs, stadiums, schools, and workplaces. This research project focuses on the construction of electronic display boards, exploring the key components, technologies, and processes involved in their development. The construction of electronic display boards involves several essential steps, starting from the selection of the display technology based on the specific requirements of the application. Common display technologies include LED, LCD, OLED, and e-paper, each offering unique advantages in terms of brightness, energy efficiency, and viewing angles. The choice of display technology influences the overall design and functionality of the electronic display board. In addition to the display technology, the construction process also involves designing the physical structure of the display board, considering factors such as size, shape, resolution, and mounting options. The housing of the display board must be durable, weatherproof, and aesthetically pleasing to ensure its longevity and usability in various environments. Furthermore, the electronic components that drive the display board, such as controllers, processors, and power supplies, are crucial elements in its construction. These components determine the performance, responsiveness, and energy efficiency of the display board. Careful selection and integration of these components are essential for achieving optimal functionality and reliability. Moreover, the software and firmware that control the display content and behavior are integral parts of the construction process. Thesis Overview

The purpose of this project is to produce a narrative description of the design and construction of an electronic display board. Firstly computer aided design is the modelling of physical system on computer allowing both interactive and automatics analysis of design variant and the expression of design in a form of suitable for manufacturing. This follows by explaining the electronics display board as a device which is fast gaining wide acceptance and application in the present days due to its ability to provide a very high precision timing. This can be describe as an electro-mechanical system for processing information in which the information is represented by physical quantitie s, which are so constrained to take only discrete values than can be referred to as binary signals. In this design, we are implored the used of both hardware and software to bring about the entire project. The hardware components are solely coordinated by the AT 89551 electronics display chip while the C-programming language is used to program the chip.
