Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. With the increasing use of social media platforms by adolescents, concerns have been raised about the potential negative effects on their mental well-being. The study will focus on exploring how social media usage patterns, such as frequency, duration, and types of activities, are associated with mental health outcomes like depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. A mixed-methods approach will be utilized to gather data from a sample of teenagers aged 13-18. Quantitative surveys will be administered to assess social media usage habits and mental health indicators. Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted to provide deeper insights into the subjective experiences of teenagers regarding their social media use and mental health. The findings from this study are expected to contribute to the existing body of literature on the relationship between social media and mental health in adolescents. By examining both quantitative and qualitative data, the research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how social media impacts teenagers' mental well-being.
