Abstract
This research project focuses on analyzing the impact of social media on mental health among adolescents. With the widespread use of social media platforms among teenagers, concerns have been raised regarding the potential negative effects on their well-being. The study aims to investigate how the use of social media correlates with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem in adolescents. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data, including surveys to assess social media usage patterns and mental health indicators, as well as interviews to delve deeper into the experiences and perceptions of adolescents regarding social media. The research will target a diverse sample of adolescents aged 13-18 to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between social media and mental health in adolescents. By identifying potential risk factors associated with social media use, this research aims to provide insights that can inform interventions and strategies to promote positive mental health outcomes among teenagers. It is expected that the results will shed light on the ways in which social media affects adolescent well-being and offer recommendations for parents, educators, and mental health professionals to support young people in navigating the digital landscape in a healthy manner. Ultimately, this research seeks to raise awareness about the importance of promoting a balanced approach to social media use and mental health among adolescents in today's digital age.
