This study investigates the impact of social media usage on mental health among adolescents. With the increasing prevalence of social media platforms and the growing concerns about mental health issues among young people, understanding the relationship between social media use and mental well-being is crucial. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to capture a comprehensive view of the subject. The quantitative analysis examines the frequency and duration of social media use by adolescents and its correlation with self-reported mental health indicators. Additionally, the qualitative interviews provide insights into the perceived benefits and drawbacks of social media use on mental health. The findings suggest a nuanced relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes. While some participants report positive effects such as social support and connectedness, others express concerns about feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression stemming from social media use. The study highlights the importance of promoting digital literacy and mental health awareness among adolescents to mitigate the negative impact of social media and enhance the positive aspects of online social interactions.
