Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of technology integration on student learning in economics education. The use of technology in education has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, providing new opportunities and challenges for educators and students alike. The study aims to explore how the integration of technology tools and resources affects student learning outcomes in the specific context of economics education. The research is guided by the following objectives to examine the background and rationale for integrating technology in economics education, to identify the potential benefits and challenges associated with technology integration, to assess the impact of technology on student engagement and motivation, to investigate the influence of technology on learning outcomes and performance, and to explore best practices and recommendations for effective technology integration in economics education. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to provide a theoretical foundation for the study. The review covers ten key areas, including the role of technology in education, theories of learning and technology integration, benefits of technology in education, challenges of technology integration, student engagement and motivation, technology-enhanced learning environments, assessment of learning outcomes, pedagogical approaches to technology integration, best practices in technology integration, and recommendations for future research. The research methodology section outlines the design and implementation of a mixed-methods study, incorporating quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with economics educators and students. The study sample includes a diverse group of participants to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the impact of technology integration on student learning. The findings from the research reveal that technology integration has a significant positive impact on student learning in economics education.
