This research project aims to explore the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. The study will investigate how various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter, influence the mental well-being of adolescents. The research will focus on the potential positive and negative effects of social media use on teenagers' mental health, including its implications for self-esteem, body image, anxiety, depression, and overall psychological well-being. The methodology will involve a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, including surveys, interviews, and content analysis of social media posts. The sample will consist of teenagers aged 13-19 from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the issue. The research will also consider factors such as the amount of time spent on social media, the types of content consumed, and the level of engagement with online platforms. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on the relationship between social media and mental health, providing insights into the specific ways in which social media can impact teenagers' well-being. By identifying both the positive and negative aspects of social media use, this research aims to inform interventions and strategies to promote healthy social media habits among adolescents.
