The abstract of the research project is as follows This research project focuses on exploring the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. The study aims to investigate how social media usage patterns, including frequency, duration, and types of interactions, influence the mental well-being of adolescents. By conducting a comprehensive literature review and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, this study seeks to provide insights into the complex relationship between social media and mental health in teenagers. The research will involve surveying a diverse group of teenagers to gather data on their social media habits, mental health status, and perceptions of how social media affects their well-being. In addition, interviews and focus groups will be conducted to delve deeper into the subjective experiences and perspectives of teenagers regarding social media and mental health. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the nuanced ways in which social media can impact the mental health of teenagers. By identifying both positive and negative effects of social media use on mental well-being, this study aims to inform the development of guidelines and interventions to promote healthier social media habits among adolescents. Ultimately, the goal is to empower teenagers to navigate the digital landscape in a way that supports their mental health and overall well-being. Through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates psychology, sociology, and communication studies, this research project seeks to shed light on a pressing issue in contemporary society.
