Abstract
This research project focuses on exploring the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. The use of social media platforms has become prevalent among adolescents, with concerns growing about the potential negative effects on their mental well-being. The study aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage and various aspects of mental health, including self-esteem, body image, anxiety, depression, and overall psychological well-being. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data from teenage participants. Surveys will be conducted to collect quantitative data on social media usage patterns and mental health indicators. Additionally, in-depth interviews will be conducted to gain a deeper understanding of how social media influences the participants' perceptions of themselves and their mental health. The findings of this research will contribute to the existing literature by providing insights into the complex interplay between social media and mental health in the teenage population. By identifying potential risk factors associated with social media use, this study aims to inform strategies for promoting positive mental health outcomes among teenagers in the digital age. Ultimately, the results of this research project are expected to have implications for various stakeholders, including parents, educators, mental health professionals, and policymakers. By raising awareness of the potential impact of social media on teenagers' mental health, this study seeks to facilitate discussions on the responsible use of social media and the development of interventions to support adolescents in maintaining their mental well-being in an increasingly connected world.
